Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham is averaging 24.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 9.2 assists per game through 25 contests in the 2024-25 NBA season, career highs in scoring and assists.[1][2]

The 23-year-old Cunningham, selected first overall by the Pistons in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Oklahoma State, earned his first All-Star selection in 2024.[1][3]

Detroit sits at 11-17, 12th in the Eastern Conference standings as of December 22, 2024, a marked improvement from the 14-68 record and 28-game losing streak that defined their 2023-24 campaign, the longest in NBA history.[4][5]

The team parted ways with coach Monty Williams after one season on what was then the league's richest coaching contract, a reported six-year, $78 million deal signed in 2023.[6]

New head coach J.B. Bickerstaff has guided the Pistons through 28 games this season at Little Caesars Arena and on the road.[1]

The Pistons have not reached the playoffs since 2019, with the Eastern Conference playoffs scheduled to begin April 19, 2025.[7]
