The United States defeated Canada 5-3 in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Baseball Classic on March 13, 2026, at Daikin Park in Sugar Land, Texas, advancing to the semifinals against the Dominican Republic.[1][2]

Both teams competed in Pool C, held at Daikin Park, which featured Canada, Colombia, Great Britain, Italy, Puerto Rico and the United States.[1][2] The top two teams from each of the three pools advanced to the quarterfinals, held March 13-14 at sites including Houston-area Daikin Park.[1][3]

Logan Webb, a starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, got the start for the U.S.[4] Reliever Mason Miller of the Oakland Athletics recorded the final out by striking out Canada's Otto Lopez of the Miami Marlins.[4][5]

The U.S. built a 5-0 lead through five innings with run-scoring hits from Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies, Alex Bregman of the Houston Astros, Brice Turang of the Milwaukee Brewers and Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs. Canada responded with three runs in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Tyler Black and a two-run home run by Bo Naylor of the Cleveland Guardians.

Canada loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh but failed to score. Miller closed out the ninth for the save.

The semifinals are scheduled for March 15-16, with the final on March 18 at Minute Maid Park in Houston.[3]
