Jamie Erdahl, co-host of NFL Network's weekday morning program "Good Morning Football," announced on October 10, 2024, that her recent absence from the show was due to a "tragic health situation" involving an immediate family member.[1][2]

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Erdahl wrote: "Since curiosity is mounting I’ll share what I feel comfortable with: I have been away from @GMFB due to an extremely personal + tragic health situation of an immediate family member."[1][3] She added that she thanked her leaders at the NFL Network for granting her time at home and stated she would return to the program on Monday, October 14, 2024.[1][2]

The announcement follows Erdahl's September 19, 2024, post on X about the death of her dog Toby from bone cancer, which she described as occurring after a brief battle with the disease.[4][5]

Erdahl joined "Good Morning Football" in August 2022 as a reporter and was elevated to co-host status in 2024 alongside Kyle Brandt and Manti Te'o when the show relocated from New York to NFL Network headquarters in Los Angeles.[2][6][7]

NFL Network reporter Sherree Burruss regularly contributes to the program and has filled in during absences.[2][6] Erdahl has described the show's informal style, telling Deadline in September 2022: "Some sports TV can get really angry and get technical... We like the messy parts of TV."[8]
