Maksym Murashkovskyi of Ukraine secured silver in the men's para biathlon individual visually impaired event at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games on March 8, 2026. The race took place at Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium in Val di Fiemme, Italy.[1][2]

Murashkovskyi, competing in the NS3 classification for athletes with the lowest level of visual impairment, completed the course in 33:41.1 alongside guide skier Vitaliy Trush. Guides are optional for NS2 and NS3 categories.[3][4]

Murashkovskyi finished more than two minutes behind Hesong.[1][3]

The 25-year-old Ukrainian athlete attributed part of his success to training with ChatGPT over the previous six months. "For the past six months, I have been training with ChatGPT," he said. "It was not only tactics. It was half of my training plan, motivation, etc."[3][5]

He described using the tool as a psychologist, coach and sometimes a doctor, and credited it for recent medals, including gold, at the Para Biathlon World Cup in January 2026.[1][3]

Murashkovskyi suggested artificial intelligence could partially replace human roles in coaching and support within five to 10 years.[3][5]

The Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics run from March 6 to 15 in Italy, with para biathlon events hosted in Val di Fiemme.[1][2]
