Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has agreed to a two-year contract extension, ensuring he remains with the team through the 2026 NFL season. The deal alleviates concerns about the 35-year-old's long-term future with the only NFL franchise he has played for.[1][2]

The extension, announced on April 29, 2024, is valued at up to $34.25 million, with $17 million guaranteed for the 2025 season.[1][3]

Kelce was selected by the Chiefs in the third round, 63rd overall, of the 2013 NFL Draft out of the University of Cincinnati. The 10-time Pro Bowl selection has recorded 907 receptions for 11,328 yards and 77 touchdowns over 11 seasons, all with Kansas City.[2][4]

In the 2023 season, Kelce had 93 receptions for 984 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He played a key role in the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22 in overtime on February 11, 2024.[3][4]

The Chiefs are 9-1 through 10 games in the 2024 season, atop the AFC West standings entering Week 12.[2][5]
