Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce stated he intends to play the 2025 NFL season, rejecting speculation about retirement.[1][2]

The 35-year-old Kelce has spent his entire 12-year NFL career with the Chiefs since being drafted in the third round out of Cincinnati in 2013.[3]

Kelce has won three Super Bowl titles with Kansas City—in Super Bowl LIV (2020), LVII (2023) and LVIII (2024)—and earned eight Pro Bowl selections.[3]

In the 2024 regular season, Kelce has 72 receptions for 699 receiving yards and four touchdowns through 16 games, helping the Chiefs to a 14-2 record entering Week 17.[3][4]

Kelce restructured his contract in March 2024 for the second straight offseason, converting $5.015 million of base salary into a signing bonus to create cap space for Kansas City.[5]

His current contract runs through the 2025 season.[3][5] Kelce has voiced a commitment to remain with the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, with whom he has connected for over 11,000 yards and 99 touchdowns since 2018.[1][3]

The Chiefs clinched a playoff berth and hold the AFC's top seed entering the final week of the regular season, scheduled for December 29, 2024, against the Denver Broncos at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.[4]
