Steve Tisch, Laurie Tisch and Jonathan Tisch have requested approval from the NFL to transfer their collective remaining equity stake in the New York Giants, totaling 23.1 percent of the club, to trusts established for their children, according to an NFL memo obtained by ESPN.[1][2]
The transfer would require review and approval by the NFL's finance committee before finalization.[1][2]
If approved, the Tisch siblings would "no longer own any interest" in the Giants, the memo stated. It noted that prior transfers of portions of their stake to these trusts were approved by the finance committee in 2023 and 2024.[1][2]
A Giants spokesperson told ESPN he had "nothing to add," while Fox News Digital received no immediate response to a request for comment.[1][2]
The Tisch family has held a 50 percent stake in the Giants since purchasing it in 1991 from heirs of franchise founder Tim Mara, sharing ownership with the Mara family.[3][4] Steve Tisch serves as the team's chairman and executive vice president, while John Mara is president and chief executive officer.[3]
