Hilary Knight, captain of the United States women's ice hockey team, proposed to American speedskater Brittany Bowe during the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The couple first met at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Knight shared a video of the proposal on social media, showing the athletes in matching Team USA apparel. She captioned it: "Olympics brought us together. This one made us forever." The proposal took place on the eve of the U.S. women's hockey gold-medal game against Canada.

Brittany Bowe competed in the women's team pursuit Final B at Milano Speed Skating Oval on February 17, 2026, in Milan, Italy. Knight, a four-time Olympian, earned medals of silver in 2010 Vancouver, silver in 2014 Sochi, gold in 2018 PyeongChang and silver in 2022 Beijing.^[1][2]

Bowe is an Olympic silver medalist from the women's team pursuit at the 2018 PyeongChang Games.^[3][4] Knight recently reflected on their initial connection in Beijing amid COVID-19 protocols during an interview with Olympics.com.

The Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games are scheduled from February 6 to 22 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.^[5]
