The NFL's 2025 legal tampering period opened on Monday, March 10, at 4 p.m. ET, allowing teams to negotiate with impending free agents before the new league year begins March 12.[1][2]

The Las Vegas Raiders hold the most projected cap space in the league at $111.91 million entering the period, according to salary cap tracking site OverTheCap, providing significant flexibility to address roster needs.[3][4]

Las Vegas, coached by Antonio Pierce since January 2024, has missed the playoffs in each of the three seasons following their 2021 wild-card appearance, posting records of 6-11 in 2022 and 8-9 in 2023.[5][6]

The Raiders ranked 27th in the NFL in sacks allowed per game (2.59) during the 2023 season, highlighting ongoing challenges along the offensive line.[7]

In the competitive AFC West, the Raiders face division rivals including the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Los Angeles Chargers and the Denver Broncos.

Free agency officially opens March 12 at 4 p.m. ET, followed by the 2025 NFL Draft on April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where the Raiders currently project to pick sixth overall based on their 2-8 record through 11 games in 2024.[8][9]
