Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice are scheduled to compete in an NXT Underground match at NXT Vengeance Day on Saturday at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The event starts at 7 p.m. ET and streams live on Peacock.[1]

NXT Underground matches feature the removal of the ring ropes, creating an MMA-style contest decided by knockout or submission.[2]

Jordan, a former elite gymnast who joined WWE in 2021,[3] told Fox News Digital she has trained with Shayna Baszler ahead of the bout. Baszler is a former UFC fighter with an 18-10 MMA record and a two-time NXT Women's Champion.[4][5]

"I feel like I’ve been ready because I stay ready, but I reached out to Shayna Baszler to help me just learn the techniques of a martial artist," Jordan said. "But also, she’s a former UFC fighter, so I’ve been training with her and I feel more than prepared for the match on Saturday."[1]

Baszler appeared on NXT television this week to train Jordan on counters to Vice's taekwondo kicks and submissions, as well as new submission techniques.[1]

Lola Vice, who competed professionally in Bellator MMA with a 1-1 record and holds a taekwondo black belt,[6] was described by Jordan as a legitimate threat. The two were previously locker room friends before their falling out.[1]

Jordan claimed to have forced Vice to submit in recent weeks and referenced shared history including the NXT Breakout Tournament finals.[1]
