Iran women's national team qualifies for AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026

Iran's women's national soccer team has qualified for the AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026 after topping Group C in the second round of qualifiers held in May 2024.[1][2]
The team secured direct qualification with a 10-0 win over Singapore on May 26, a 4-0 victory against Turkmenistan on May 29, and a 1-0 defeat of Lebanon on May 24.[1][2] The squad was coached by Marziyeh Jafari during the qualifiers.[3]
The tournament will be hosted across Australia from March 2 to 15, 2026, with venues including Cbus Super Stadium in Robina and Gold Coast Stadium on the Gold Coast, as well as stadiums in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.[4][5]
Iran, FIFA women's world ranked 62nd as of December 2024, has participated in the Asian Cup since 2010, reaching the quarter-finals in 2018.[3][6] The 16-team event features a group stage followed by knockout rounds.[4]
The final draw for the group stage is scheduled for late 2025.[4]
