The Iranian women's national football team is taking part in the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026, hosted by Australia from 27 January to 17 February 2026.[1][2] The tournament features 16 teams in a group stage format followed by knockout rounds, serving as the Asian qualifying competition for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Iran was drawn in Group B alongside Japan, South Korea and Bangladesh following the group draw held on 17 October 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.[3] South Korea defeated Iran 4-0 in their last meeting at the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup.[4]

Group stage matches, including those involving Iran, are scheduled at venues such as Cbus Super Stadium in Robina on the Gold Coast.[5] The stadium has hosted fixtures during the tournament.

Iran qualified for the finals by advancing through the qualification rounds, defeating Maldives 13-0 on aggregate in the second round and progressing further.[6] The team finished bottom of their group at the 2022 edition in India.
