The Indianapolis Colts agreed to a three-year, $70 million contract extension with wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. on March 11, 2024, securing the receiver beyond the 2024 season.[1][2] The deal includes $36 million in guarantees.
Pittman, 26, was the 26th overall pick by the Colts in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Southern California.[3] In the 2023 season, he set career highs with 114 receptions for 1,355 yards and four touchdowns, becoming the first player in franchise history to record at least 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons.[4][5]
Alec Pierce, another key wideout for the Colts, remains under his four-year rookie contract signed after being selected in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Cincinnati. The contract runs through the 2025 season.[6][7] Pierce recorded 29 receptions for 478 yards and one touchdown in 2023.[4]
The Colts finished the 2023 regular season with a 9-8 record, placing second in the AFC South and missing the playoffs.[8]
