The University of Pennsylvania Quakers won the Ivy League men's basketball tournament championship with an 88-84 overtime victory over the No. 1 seed Yale Bulldogs.[1][2]

The win secures Penn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, marking the Quakers' first appearance since 2018, when they defeated Harvard in the Ivy League final before losing to Kansas in the NCAA first round.[3][4]

Penn forward T.J. Power scored 44 points on 14-of-26 field goals, including 7-of-14 from three-point range, to go with 14 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.[1][2] A game-tying three-pointer by Power with one second left in regulation forced overtime after Yale's Trevor Mullin missed a potential game-winning shot off the back rim.[1]

In overtime, Penn outscored Yale 13-9. Yale held an 86-81 lead with 17 seconds remaining following free throws by Power, but the Bulldogs did not intentionally foul. Penn tied the game late before Cam Thrower drained a three-pointer with 1:59 left to give the Quakers a four-point advantage.[1] Michael Zanoni made both free throws with seven seconds remaining to seal the victory.[1]

Thrower finished with 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and four rebounds.[1] Penn had advanced to the final with a win over No. 2 seed Harvard.[1]

The Ivy League men's basketball tournament is a single-elimination postseason event featuring the top four teams from the regular season standings; the champion receives the conference's automatic qualification to the NCAA tournament.[3][4] T.J. Power is a 6-foot-9 forward on Penn's roster.[2]
